Grapes: vinyater, subirat parent, xarello, cartoixa vermell and sumoll
Place: Catalonia, Spain
Possibly the best rosé we've had in a long time. A crazy mix of indigenous grapes blended after fermentation. Gorgeous floral notes of tangerine and papaya. Very juicy with flavours of grapefruit, a tiny bit of funk, and crackling minerality. An afternoon delight of a wine.
Partida Creus is a winemaking team made up of Massimo and Antonella, originally from Piedmonte, Italy. Now based in the Tarragona region of Catalonia, the idea of the project was to work with historical, often overlooked local varietals that in many cases were not recognised by the D.O. of the area: Penedès. This pair sought to buy and restore old vineyards, working with very expressive varietals, which they make into an impressively dizzying number of different wines.
